Originally owned by celebrated guitar designer Grover Jackson (onetime partner of Wayne Charvel), Jackson Guitars is known for its hot-rodded “SuperStrat” guitars that feature custom designs and superb playability, which befits a guitar company that primarily caters to hard rock and heavy metal players (who generally require guitars with low, fast action). The guitars’ agressive looks have made them popular with a wide variety of players, including Randy Rhoads (who inspired the Rhoads “V” model guitar), Vinnie Vincent, Phil Collen, Dan Spitz, Scott Ian, Warren DeMartini, C. C. Deville, and Sammy Hagar, among many others.
Though Jackson guitars share the traditional Fender body style, there are a number of features that make these guitars easily from the typical Fender Stratocaster, such as the reversed pointy-tip headstock, shark fin freboard inlays, Floyd Rose bridges, and humbucking pickups.
Jackson is also known for its signature models that are often developed in conjunction with famous guitarists.
